MUSIC | $5 | ALL AGES | Mato is a 21 year old Native American rapper/R&B artist from South Dakota, whose funky music ranges from jazzy, relatable messages to powerful emotions regarding the treatment of Native Americans and the culture that raised him. He performed in Los Angeles' inaugural Indigenous People's Day among artists such as Redbone and the Black Eyed Peas, as well as the annual conference for the National Congress of American Indians. Last month he also played at Apple in Union Square in San Francisco - all shows with strong underlying messages of his heritage, mixing with his narrative as a college student growing up.
