WORKSHOP | $75 | 16+ | The Risograph Duplicator is an incredibly niche piece of equipment. Originally meant as an alternative to office copy machines, it has been embraced by the printmaking field for its rapid printing abilities, vibrant colors, and environmentally friendly soy-based inks.
In this workshop, Natalie will guide you through the process of designing and printing a two-toned Risograph poster! We’ll start out with a short introduction to the basic functions of the machine itself. Then we’ll walk you through how to hand design the layers for your print, utilizing the Riso’s unique system of color layering. Lastly, you’ll use our Risograph to make a unique edition of your prints!
Each participant will get to burn their image to a master (a stencil made of banana leaf paper!), run tests, fine-tune their print, and run an edition of 5 final prints to take home.
This is a 90 minute workshop, 4 people per workshop. Vax cards and masks are mandatory. Please note: this event is at Nova Community Arts in Atwater Village, NOT at Junior High. The building is NOT fully accessible for those who cannot travel up steps.
This event will be indoors. Accessible Pricing options are available.
