⤏ A PLAYLIST FOR FAIRY CIRCLES
⤏ CURATED BY ENNY OWL
“Your dance is a code is a pathway to what's given"
—AYLA NEREO, “HUM”
What is the theme of your playlist?
magic, healing, and self-discovery
What is your favorite lyric on Homes in Humans?
"Hold your head in the clouds and walk to the sea. You're a vision of hope what you've sown you shall reap"
You've described your music as "music for fairies" and your song "Femi" is based on a Yoruba folktale, are there any other stories or fairy tales from your childhood that later inspired your music?
Definitely! As a child I adored Cinderella, the Tinkerbell series, Ella Enchanted, and the Peter Rabbit books.
What feelings did you want to capture when putting together Homes in Humans?
I wanted to capture the feeling of being on a healing journey.
Since the songs on Homes in Humans are named after somebody, do you have a favorite song with a person's name in the title?
Ophelia by The Lumineers
You get to spend the day with any artist, dead or alive. Who are they and what are you doing?
I'd spend the day with Elizabeth Cotten. She was a black folk singer songwriter who played a right handed guitar upside down. I imagine that I would bake her some vegan treats and we'd have tea in the garden. Then we'd play music together and tell stories as the sun sets.
