A night celebrating exploratory music and art from queer and femme musicians, artists, producers, aliens, angels, and demons from the city of Los Angeles. Performances from Humors, Neyva, Nadoyel, and Katie Gately with art from GIMO and Eliza Harris.
Humors: Humors is a Los Angeles based experimental duo featuring Gemma Godfrey and Freddie Bayne. Their live performances, improvised around drone beats and loops, are tuned in the studio into the tight, odd pop landscapes heard on their debut record Let Me Slip (2019).
Neyva: Neyva is an eclectic artist who showcases her vulnerabilities through her lyrics, voice, and instrumentation, ultimately creating her own musical universe.
Nadoyel : Nadoyel derives from the Russian expression Mne Nadoyel-мне Надоел- implying a sense of boredom with the status quo and desire for movement. An LA based trio comprised of Jacqui Miranda on guitar, Zachary Paul on violin, and Celia Danielle on synth-Nadoyel was brought together in early 2019 by a love of all the strange, romantic noises passing through the audio air.
Katie Gately: A Brooklyn native, Katie Gately is an experimental musician, music producer and sound designer based in Los Angeles, CA. She is a graduate of the University of Southern California where she received an MFA in Sound Design. She is particularly interested in composition based upon found sounds and vocal processing.
Eliza Harris: Eliza is an occasional writer, occasional poetry editor for electronic journal Diagram, and occasional cyborg t-rex cartoonists who draws very well despite tiny hands! She is interested in stories that pose as diagrams and diagrams that become stories.
GIMO: GIMO is a queer Mexican American multi-disciplinary artist from Chicago, IL. Now based in East Hollywood, CA. Their work explores identity, the subconscious, cultural and spiritual symbolism, non binary sexuality, surrealism, and psychological conclusions/epiphanies through detailed inked portraits and narratives.
