Nerikomi Night | Clay Date Celebrates AAPI Month

  • Junior High, Incorporated 603 South Brand Boulevard Glendale, CA, 91204 United States (map)

GUEST ARTIST WORKSHOP | $55 | AGES 16+ | We're celebrating AAPI Month with Clay Date instructor Ash for a fun and culturally informative experience! Learn how to create Blue and White styled Vases using the Nerikomi method. Each attendee will be given white clay and blue-stained clay to create their own images and texts on their own artwork.

This workshop includes learning multiple Asian pottery techniques and designs that range from China, Iraq, and Japan.

Great for those who are looking for access to ceramics, clay friends, or sharpening your skill set! No experience necessary. No reservations necessary to attend Clay Date. You are welcome to purchase your ticket ahead of time or at the door day-of the event.

Price of admission also pays for all firings of class work. Students will be notified via email to pick up their fired cups 4-6 weeks after the class. Cups will be food safe and ready to use upon pick-up. Pieces may be picked up during Gallery Hours 12-6pm on Mondays or at any Clay Date. Everyone will have up to three months to pick up their pots- after which we will have to dispose of them to make space for new class work. Email claydate@juniorhighla.com for any further questions pertaining to Clay Date!

COVID-19 vaccinations are highly recommended to attend events at Junior High. Learn more here.
