WORKSHOP | $25 | ALL AGES | Sculpt & Connect: Join us for a relaxed, inclusive afternoon of clay sculpting! Whether you prefer to quietly focus on your art or chat with new friends, this event is designed with sensory comfort and accessibility in mind. Your ticket includes two pounds of clay, up to two hours of sculpting time, and a brief, low-pressure instruction period to get you started. Come create at your own pace in a welcoming, accommodating environment!
What to Expect / Event Guidelines
Sensory-Friendly Atmosphere: The studio will feature a curated, soothing playlist by Infinite Spectrum, and all fluorescent lighting will be turned off.
Choose Your Vibe: We offer two dedicated workspaces. Sit at our "Quiet Table," where noise-canceling headphones and silent focus are celebrated, or join the "Make New Friends" table, where info-dumping and passionate conversations are highly encouraged!
Zero-Pressure Participation: Take a break, step away, or leave early whenever you need to. There is no pressure to stay the full two hours or finish a masterpiece.
Clear, Accessible Instructions: We’ll provide a brief instruction session upfront so you know exactly what to do, allowing you to dive right into the clay with confidence.
Learn More about Clay Date:
Looking for access to ceramics, clay sculpting with friends, or sharpening your skill set? Walk in at your leisure and join us at Clay Date! Here you can have 2hr access to 2 lbs of clay and tools to make your own ceramic sculptures! Learn pinch, coil, and slab techniques with one of our two resident clay artists Shea Smelser (@sheasmelser) or Chelsie Rivera (@la_rosebud), for a loosely guided hand building class. No experience is necessary. Tickets for Clay Date will also be available at the door day-of the event.
Option to pay $10 to fire your artwork at the end of the class. If you opt to fire your work, you will receive an email once your pots have been bisque fired and are ready to pick up. You can pick up your pieces Monday/Tuesday or at any Clay Date. To glaze your work, purchase another Clay Date ticket to receive access to the glazes and for the last firing. You will have up to three months to pick up/glaze your works – after which we will have to dispose of them to make space for new class work!
