GUEST ARTIST WORKSHOP | $55 | AGES 16+ | Join Jeffery Sun Young Park at Junior High for a one-time ceramic workshop! The workshop will focus on wellness through clay while simultaneously learning starting steps of hand building. The hand building project will go over making personal objects to help teach attainable skills while addressing personal relationships people have to creativity and body work.
Handbuilding 101 techniques will be covered, such as coiling, pinching, and slab building. The intention is to provide an accessible learning space for those who want to connect to their body and clay while being with the community. This class is for anyone and everyone! It’s a class to get people into the "pottery door." Students can expect to leave with some clay knowledge, a personal object, and more love for themselves and others.
Price of admission also pays for the firing and clear glazing of class work. Option to return to paint your class work at a later Clay Date (additional class/firing is not included). Students will be notified via email to pick up their fired pieces 4-6 weeks after the class. Pieces may be picked up during Gallery Hours 12-6pm on Mondays or at any Clay Date. Everyone will have up to two months to pick up their pieces- after which we will have to dispose of them to make space for new class work.
