STICKY POETRY CLUB is an experimental & informal embodied writing space for folks looking to be in the messy sociality of writing together.

At STICKY, we get into the strange, random, hard to understand, and difficult to leave places within ourselves and our language. We press, pull, sort, channel and touch. We experiment, we fail, we play!

In JUNE, we will be reading writing exclusively by trans and nonbinary writers and artists. Together we will immerse ourselves in the brilliance, humor, oddness, curiosity, mundanity and lyricism of poems, essays, manifestos, plays, and songs written by trans and non-binary writers. Everyone is welcome!

Each week we will read and feel into writing out loud together, practice different strategies of embodied writing, meet new people, and experience ourselves more deeply in language. Come with an openness to generate new writing that surprises you and with a desire to build relationship with other writers in LA.COVID-19 vaccinations are mandatory to attend events at Junior High. Proof must be available upon request. You may access your Digital Vaccination Record here.

This event will be indoors. Accessible Pricing options are available.
