Pipe Dream to Paperback | Teach-In

  • Shopify Los Angeles (Building 1, Unit 100) 777 South Alameda Street Los Angeles, CA, 90021 United States (map)

WORKSHOP | FREE | ALL AGES | Junior High x Shopify’s monthly "Sunday Teach-In" series is a revitalization of the 60s movement by the same name. Teach-Ins dissect entrepreneurial topics, while prioritizing participation, practicality, and accessibility. Once a month, Junior High and Shopify will host different facilitators across various industries.

This March, Amy Solomon is here to teach you how to get your idea to go from the notes in your journal into a book proposal into an actual book that you can touch and kiss and sell. It's a wild ride and it's time to share all the tips and tricks! From contacting agents to writing a proposal to designing a cover, we'll go over it all.

Teach-Ins will be held at the Shopify storefront in Downtown Los Angeles. There is accessible parking on-site with validation. Featuring coffee courtesy of Go Get Em Tiger.

About the Facilitator: Amy Solomon is a TV/film producer (Silicon Valley, Barry) and the editor of LA Times bestseller Notes from the Bathroom Line: Humor, Art, and Low-Grade Panic from 150 of the Funniest Women in Comedy which she published with Harper Collins in 2021.
