Cole, Nico, and Emelia working on their dance routine for “Think About Your Crush”. You gotta dance in the studio to make sure the song works. It’s 100% apart of the process.

Cole and Emelia working out some new parts in the studio. We got to do a lot of in-studio writing to build upon our usual four piece instrument setup which was really exciting for us.

Emelia, Shay, and Cole on some post-session satisfaction, this day was a long and hot one but super rewarding!

Shay recording guitar tracks, lookin focused

Emelia and Shay killing time on the couch. As we progressed in the recording process we each took turns adding parts, and the others would hang around to support and give input.

Shay, Cole, and Nico at it with some more live tracking. Certain songs were more flushed out beforehand, some were built up with a lot of in-studio improvisation.

Nico overdubbing guitar tracks for “Angel in the Flesh” through a tiny Marshall amp held by our studio Assistant Engineer, Aaron Moxness. This made some of the most wild sounding feedback - we used this on a few songs throughout the album cause we loved it so much. The idea to do so came from our Producer and Engineer, Danny Nogueiras.

This one captures the essence of our mixing process - unfortunately we had to do all of our mixing virtually due to a gnarly Covid spike, but we made it work.

The last image is from the drive back on our tour in 2022, when we listened through the final mixes and decided on an order for the full album. We were driving through some beautiful mountains in the sunset, listening to our song “Pure” - it all felt super surreal and gratifying.
